Data visualised in the way that seems most natural
So we have been supplying the British Geological Survey with FME and associated services for a while, and they have come up with some really interesting ways to visualise their data to make information appealing and accessible to the general public for the world’s first 3D geological network – BG3D.
Take a look at the video.
When you need to look at geological information it makes complete sense to show this in 3D etc. But we don’t all have sophisticated tools, so how about a simple PDF document… All you need is the Adobe reader or Google Earth and you can fly around the country and look at cross sections of data. A really nice way of showing off their data to the public!
