Dotted Eyes delivers real value to the FME community
Dotted Eyes continues to add real value to the UK FME community with a series of innovative FME events. The first out of four events, hosted in London in March, gained a fantastic response from all who attended. Almost 90% of delegates scored it as one of the best events they have been to.
In an effort to provide solutions to FME challenges, delegates were encouraged to swap tried and tested practises during interactive workshops. Many also seized the opportunity to quiz FME gurus and Dotted Eyes’ founder Jamie Justham.
Returning delegates were thrilled to see that the FME Pub Quiz – a highlight of previous years’ events – made a comeback. Whilst two brand new workshops – the FME Speed Event and FME Krypton Factor – were introduced.
With a focus on keeping delegates constantly engaged and attentive, workshops were not only technically challenging but also socially stimulating. The room was a hive of activity as delegates shared their skills and experiences to win tasks. With supersized nerf guns on offer as prizes, challenge winners were not disappointed.
Mike Robertson, Cartographic Developer at Ordnance Survey, said: “I thoroughly enjoyed this event. The interactive format and focus on fun was a refreshing change to your normal run of the mill conference. I loved hearing direct from other users about all the cool things they do with FME.”
Sandra Bain, GIS Manager at Thurrock Council, said: “Initially I felt quite nervous about the event as I am not a huge user of FME. But, by the end of the day, I found that I had thoroughly enjoyed myself, which is a strange thing to say about a software gathering!”
Dotted Eyes’ Managing Director, Ben Allan, was thrilled with the response: “I am delighted that our event went down a storm in London. The interactive format urges delegates to share stories and learn from each other, delivering real value to the FME community.”
As the UK’s only platinum partner of Safe Software, Dotted Eyes are hosting a further three events in May. Located in Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol, these events form part of the 2013 FME World Tour.
Safe Software’s very own Robyn Rennie is attending the 2013 UK FME World Tour to share expert tips and the latest developments in FME.
